if you're lucky enough to just require more general care, then it may be that you're appointment is delivered by one of our Foot Health Practioners. We know that Foot Health Practitioners might be new to many Clockhouse clients, so we wanted to take the time to outline the differences.
In short, FHPs are highly trained foot-focused therapists who are able to deliver the general footcare treatments that our Podiatrists spend about 60% of their time undertaking. These include:
- Nail cutting, filing, and tidying
- Helping with corns and callus
- Preventing and treating fungal infections
- General foot health
Naturally there are some conditions that are outside of their scope of Foot Health Practitioners (in the same way that sometimes one needs a consultant as opposed to a doctor, for example). However we're always on hand to discuss who it would be most appropriate for you to see. This could be based around serious pre-existing foot conditions or other clinical requirements. It's also worth mentioning that some insurance providers will not cover work undertaken by these practitioners.
Please feel free to get in contact to discuss the different options that we provide, so
